A high-molecular copolymer containing a metal coordination compound capable of blue phosphorescence of high color purity. There is further provided a high-molecular copolymer containing a metal coordination compound of prolonged driving life capable of emitting lights of various colors ranging from blue to red. In particular, there is provided a high-molecular copolymer containing a metal coordination compound, characterized by comprising any of metal coordination compound monomer units represented by the formulae (1) to (12): B: >O, >S, >C=O, >SO2, >CR2 together with at least one monomer unit selected from the group consisting of a substituted or unsubstituted quinoline monomer unit, a substituted or unsubstituted arylene and/or heteroarylene monomer unit, a substituted or unsubstituted branched structure monomer unit and a substituted or unsubstituted conjugated monomer unit.
