DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING ATTACHMENT LOCK OF PERIPHERALS ON POWER-ON STATE

PURPOSE: A device and a method for controlling attachment lock of peripherals on a power-on state are provided to prevent the attachable peripherals such as an HDD(Hard Disk Drive), an FDD(Floppy Disk Drive), and a cable master from being separated from a portable PC on the power-on state by using a locking device. CONSTITUTION: A power manager(2) outputs a hibernation interrupt signal if no event is generated from the attachable peripheral(6) during a predetermined time. A microcomputer(3) outputs a power-on/off control signal to a corresponding device according to an operation state of a power switch(1) and outputs a locking state control signal to the corresponding device depending on a state of the hibernation interrupt signal output from the power manager. A power supply(4) supplies power to the portable PC by changing the operation state depending on the power on/off control signal output from the microcomputer. The locking device(5) controls the locking state of the peripherals by changing the operation state depending on the locking state control signal output from the microcomputer.
