Rabbet mounted gas turbine combustor

The combustor has an inner casing (32) with a rabbet (40) at an end flange in which a corresponding flange (44) of an inner shell (42) is mounted. The inner shell has a rabbet (50) which receives an end flange (56) of an inner liner (54). The inner shell is trapped in the rabbet (40) by an inner retainer (64). The inner liner is trapped in the rabbet (50) for aft-mounting the liner and shell to the inner casing. An independent claim is also included for a method of assembling the combustor.
