Antenna with loop shaped radiating element on dielectric support

An antenna for a mobile communication terminal comprises a first band shaped radiation element 330 at least a portion of which is formed around the edge an upper surface of a dielectric support 390. One end of the band is connected to a power feed 310 and the other end is connected to ground 320, thus forming a loop shaped current path. Additional radiating elements 340, 350 connected to the first element 330 may be provided which radiate in a higher frequency band than the first element 330, thus forming a multi-band antenna. A further band shaped element 360 connected to the first element 330 functions to adjust the antenna's frequency and control impedance matching.
