Resistant starch compositions

Sterilizing a resistant starch composition (A) comprises dispersing (A) in oil; heating the obtained starch/oil dispersion at 100-175 (preferably about 150) [deg]C; and cooling the starch/oil dispersion. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a sterilized resistant starch composition (B); (2) a nutritional, pharmaceutical or feed composition (C) comprising up to 10 wt.% of (B) and one or more additional ingredients; and (3) producing a sterile (C) comprising, (a) sterilizing an oil dispersion comprising resistant starch and optionally, one or more additional ingredients, (b) sterilizing a water solution comprising one or more water-soluble ingredients and (c) combining the sterilized oil dispersion and the sterilized water solution. ACTIVITY : Antiinflammatory; Gastrointestinal-Gen.; Cytostatic; Antidiabetic; Anorectic. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
