A method of bending a sheet of vitreous material wherein the sheet is heated and caused to bend relative to a contacting reaction means by initiating the bending of the sheet while it is in contact with the reaction means and separating the sheet and reaction means before completion of the bending operation, and apparatus for carrying out such method which is preferably incorporated in a sheet bending plant as a mobile track-mounted unit therein. |
