A vehicle seat (1) is provided with a squab (2), a backrest (3) and a headrest (4). The headrest (4) is supported by one or more support elements (20, 21). The or each support element is connected by a connection (19) to a respective drive element (17) which is connected to a pressure plate (18) located within the backrest (3). The drive element (17) is guided for rearward movement by a guide (15) which is formed fast with the frame (5) of the seat (1). A pivot surface (13) is provided located adjacent the support element (20, 21) such that, on rearward movement of the drive element (17), the support element (20, 21) engages the pivot surface (13) to cause the headrest (4) to move forwardly in a pivotal manner.
