The invention relates to a system for opening tins and cans comprising a rotating closure device (1). The invention is of the type in which a pull lever (2) which is attached to the lid of the tin or can is pulled manually in order to remove part of the surface of the lid (3) and form an opening or hole (4), thereby providing access to the contents of the container. In addition, the aforementioned opening can also be subsequently closed in order to protect and store any contents remaining therein. The inventive system is characterised in that the lower part of the pull lever (2) comprises a closure device (5) which can be inserted into the hole (4) after opening, by: (i) rotating the lever around the rivet (6) which connects same to the central body (7) thereof at the part of the lid (3) containing a tab (8) that is defined by a circumferential weakening line (9) forming an integral part of the lid (3); and (ii) subsequently applying pressure at the end (10) of the lever.
