PURPOSE:To make the flow of a working gas of an engine uniform and to improve the working efficiency, by arranging a regnerator and a cooler around an expansion cylinder in an annular fashion, and directly connecting heater tubes to the expansion cylinder and the regenerator. CONSTITUTION:The regenerator 18 and the cooler 19 are arranged in an annular fashion around the cylinder 2 having therein a piston 4 connected via a connecting rod 14 to a crank shaft 15, and one end of each tube 27a of a heater 27 in communication with a heater head section of the cylinder 2 is connected with the regenerator 18. On the other hand, a low temperature compression space 10 in a compression cylinder 3 having a piston 5 connected with said shaft 15 is connected a low temperature conduit 28, so that an L-shaped stinling engine is constitutted as a whole. As the regenerator 18 and the cooler 19 are arranged around the cylinder 2 in an annual fashion, the working gas can flow uniformly, and therefore the working efficiency of the engine is enhanced. |
