PURPOSE: An AV(Audio Video) data copy guard system and a copy guard method are provided to use the first CCI(Copy Control Information) when a key for encoding and decoding data is generated, thereby effectively preventing contents from being illegally copied owing to an illegal change of the CCI. CONSTITUTION: A contents protection system(400) comprises as follows. A CCI checker(410) checks a status of the first CCI, and generates a control signal corresponding to the checked result. A contents processor(420) generates a decoding key according to the control signal, and decodes contents. The contents protection system(400) interworks with a CPU memory(430) for receiving AV data from an AV data storage medium(450) and a CPU(440) for processing the AV data stored in the CPU memory(430).
