PURPOSE:To obtain developing powder for electrophotography having enhanced compatibility with the used resin and improved electrostatic characteristics by adding a specified 2:1 type metallic complex salt dye as a charging controller and a colorant. CONSTITUTION:This developing powder for electrophotography contains a 2:1 type metallic complex salt dye represented by the formula as a charging controller and a colorant. The dye is added to synthetic resin by about 1-50wt%, and they are melted, solidified, and pulverized to obtain the developing powder. The dye is produced by treating a monoazo dye produced from 4,6-dinitro-2-aminophenol and beta-naphthol with a chromium providing agent. This developing powder gives an extent of electrification suitable for developing an electrostatic image, and the extent of electrification is kept constant even if development is repeated. |
