A continuous process for producing ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (I) emulsions involved continuously charging a reaction mixt. contg. vinyl acetate(II) and ethylene(III) to a reaction vessel and polymg. in the presence of a seed latex under III pressure, continuously rmeoving the I altex from the vessel when it has a glass transition temp of -20≦̸C to +10≦̸C and an unreacted II concn. of 5-20 %, and post reacting the unreacted II in the copolymer latex at a III pressure of <=300 psia until the unreacted II in the I latex is < 1% by wt.
