PURPOSE:To improve steel characteristics, durability, and the abrasion resistance of heads by contg. two kinds of abrasive materials having different average grain sizes into a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:An abrasive material of Cr2O3, Al2O3, TiO2, SiO2, SiC or the like of 0.05-0.3mum average grain size and the abrasive material similar to the above-mentioned material of 0.5-1.5mum average grain size are added and incorporated in a magnetic layer using a resin binder, whereby a magnetic recording medium for magnetic tapes, etc. is obtained. |
