FIELD: ferrous metallurgy; monitoring of blast furnace run. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes measurement of friction force of charge by means of at least two contact sensors mounted at angle of 9-180 deg. relative to furnace axis, comparison of their readings and replacement of sensor with new one in case its readings are reduced by 8-100%. ^ EFFECT: enhanced reliability of readings; possibility of obtaining continuous information of blast furnace run. ^ 1 dwg
