FIELD: chemistry of polymers, medicine, pharmacy. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to linear copolymers of cyclodextrin and oxidized cyclodextrin that can be used as carriers in delivery of different therapeutic agents. Water-soluble linear copolymer of cyclodextrin is prepared by a method that involves: a) preparing at least one precursor of cyclodextrin monomer allowing carrying out the polymerization reaction at two positions only; b) interaction of precursor of cyclodextrin monomer with compound comprising two functional groups through that the binding precursors of cyclodextrin monomer can be carried out and resulting to preparing water-soluble linear cyclodextrin copolymer comprising repeated elementary links of the formula . The cyclodextrin copolymer comprising cyclodextrin fragments as a component of the main chain of polymer and comprising repeated elementary links of the formula (Ia) and (Ib). The therapeutic composition comprises above said copolymer and effective dose of the therapeutic agent. The composition comprises: a) the first copolymer wherein at least one cyclodextrin fragment or monomer is oxidized, and b) the second cyclodextrin copolymer comprising cyclodextrin fragments as component of the main polymeric chain. The therapeutic composition comprises above said cyclodextrin composition and effective dose of therapeutic agent. Method for delivery of therapeutic agent to patient comprises administration to patient therapeutically effective dose of above said therapeutic compositions.
