FIELD: satellites and spacecraft. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ion rocket engines. For neutralization of outgoing flow of fuel ions engine is furnished with electron source with additional electrode in line with anode and hollow cathode along which gas flows. Additional electrode in form of pin is fixed along longitudinal axis of cathode tube and it provides, by generating ignition pulse, gas discharge between anode and cathode and appearance of flow of electrons. ^ EFFECT: improved reliability, reduced load on material. ^ 5 cl, 2 dwg |
