The method involves detecting braking pressure signals and/or wheel revolution rate signals and concluding the presence of manufacturing, wear and/or damage-related thickness fluctuations on the brake disks of the front and/or rear axles if there are oscillations. On detecting oscillations brake disk actuators are driven so that the braking forces are distributed, while maintaining the overall deceleration, to eliminate or reduce the oscillations.
