A steam oven has a steam generator that consists of a water feed pipe (40) terminating with a valve-regulated jet into the ventilation pipe (30) or pipe fitting (31). The water jet is supplied from a water tank or reservoir and regulated by a control system. The steam oven (1) has an access hatch (2) to the inner chamber with an air suction inlet separated from an air outlet by a blower chamber (3) and blower (10). The chamber further has a heater (11), steam generator (40) and air supply (30, 31). The steam generator (40) is connected partly with the flap-regulated air supply (30, 31). The oven is regulated by a control system with a humidity sensor, pressure sensor, through-flow sensor and/or temperature sensor and linked to the blower, heater, ventilation system and steam generator.
