The guiding and sealing profile (13) for fastening to a component part of a motor vehicle has a fixing section with a free end (32) which has a cut-out which can be fitted onto a shoulder (18) on the component in such a way that the free end grips behind it in the fitted position. The guiding and sealing profile has a preformed part between a roof section and side section of the component part. The cut-out is defined by two fingers (27,34) between which is accommodated the shoulder on the component part.
