PURPOSE: A portable cable reel is provided to prevent a cable from being unwound due to rotation of the cable reel during transportation or work. CONSTITUTION: A portable cable reel comprises a support member(2), a rotation drum(5), and fixing plates(6). The rotation drum is fixed on the support member such that the rotation drum is rotatable, and wound with a cable having an end with a power plug(3). The fixing plates are arranged at both sides of the rotation drum, and plug sockets(7) are mounted on the fixing plate. Each of the fixing plates has an edge where a fixing groove(8) with an open inlet portion is formed so as to fix a cable(4) such that the cable is attachable/detachable. A protection guard(9) is coupled to the fixing groove so as to protect the cable secured in the fixing groove.
