PURPOSE: A double cyclone dust collecting apparatus of a vacuum cleaner is provided to improve the suction efficiency and precipitation efficiency by sequentially and separately precipitating dust and dirt depending on the size of the dust and dirt. CONSTITUTION: A double cyclone dust collecting apparatus(20) of a vacuum cleaner comprises a lower cyclone body(40) having an intake port(41) and an exhaust port, an upper cyclone body(30) placed in the upper portion of the lower cyclone body, a dust and dirt collecting case(25) removably combined with the lower cyclone body, and an air passage formed inside the upper cyclone body and the lower cyclone body to circulate the air containing the dust and dirt sucked from the exterior. Dust and dirt contained in the air sucked through an intake port(41) are removed firstly by the lower cyclone body. The fine dust remaining in the air is secondly removed by the upper cyclone body.
