The optical signals produced by reach diluted sample or reagent in a microwell are determined and are corrected to compensate for the geometry of the well, surface of the sample, etc. An average value is obtained for signal intensity for all the samples and the deviation of each sample from this is calculated. An Independent claim is included for a test kit for carrying out the method comprising two solutions, each containing two indicators, for use in fluorescence analysis, two similar solutions for photometric analysis and a temperature-independent buffer solution.
