The invention relates to packaging (1) which is intended for the transport/storage of radioactive material. The inventive packaging comprises a packaging body (2) and at least one handling element (8) which is mounted in a base housing (30) using fixing screws (38), said housing being defined by a base housing wall (32). According to the invention, a seal plate (50) which covers the fixing screws is removably mounted in a plate housing (52). Moreover, the plate housing (52) is defined by a plate housing wall (56) which is provided on the handling element and by a portion (58) of the above-mentioned base housing wall. In addition, a gasket (66) is disposed between an outer peripheral wall (60) of the plate and the aforementioned portion (58) of the base housing wall and another gasket (74) is disposed between an inner peripheral wall (68) of the plate and the plate housing wall (56).
