A multiple foldable electronic device having portability, easiness with which to view a display, and key board operability. The main features are as follows. (1) "An elastic hinge unit" having an elastic parallel two-axis type hinge construction in which the shaft hole friction resistance is so low as to prevent rotatability from being hindered even when the distance between connection subjects or the direction of action is varied in many ways, so that there is no need to purposely give an allowance to the shaft hole so as to put the connection in a loose state; (2) "A mating surface protection cover unit" which reliably protects the mating surfaces of casings when folded and automatically changes the position when unfolded so as not to hinder the continuity of a screen or customary arrangement of keys and which, when further folded, automatically returns to the original position to again protect the mating surfaces of the casings and automatically performs these operations concomitantly with the opening/closing of the casings, not requiring extra procedures or power consumption; (3) "A composite tenser" which allows folding/unfolding without deteriorating a soft LCD; and (4) "Regular mutual arrangement" of keys space-saving the key board when folded while retaining the mistyping suppression effect.
