PURPOSE: A protecting device of a wiper system is provided to cut off unnecessary working of a wiper and to prevent breakage of the wiper system, by sensing a current flowing in a wiper motor and cutting off the current if the current is in an excess current state. CONSTITUTION: A protecting device of a wiper system comprises a wiper switch(10) controlling the wiper speed; an intermittent time mode switch(20), an operation switch for intermittent working; a current-sensitive sensor(50) sensing the load current given to a wiper motor(60); an electronic control unit(30) controlling the working time of the wiper motor or cutting off the working of the wiper motor according to the current level fed back through the current-sensitive sensor; a relay(55) connecting the operation of the wiper motor and the electronic control unit; and a driver warning light(40) warning a driver of an access current state through the electronic control unit.
