PURPOSE: To provide a hot and cold water ionization and purification system having a drain manifold, which is able to provide purified water, alkaline cold water, alkaline hot water, acidic water and normal temperature ionized water with one purification system by pushing respective and corresponding levers, and a method for controlling the hot and cold water ionization and purification system. CONSTITUTION: The system (100) comprises a filter part (110) that filters and purifies flown in water, a purified water storage tank (120), an electrolytic cell (130) that electrolyzes the purified water flown in from the purified water storage tank to generate an acidic water for washing and an alkaline ionized water for drinking water, an acidic water storage tank (140), a normal and hot water distributor (150) that distributes normal and hot water and the alkaline ionized water, an alkaline water storage tank (160), a normal and hot water storage pipe (170), a hot water tank (180) that heat the alkaline ionized water stored in the alkaline water storage tank and stores the heated alkaline ionized water, a cold water tank (190) that cools the alkaline ionized water and stores the cooled alkaline ionized water and a drain manifold (192) that is connected with the purified water storage tank, acidic water storage tank, hot water storage tank, cold water storage tank and normal and hot water storage pipe to perform an automatic drain operation.
