A transparent gel self-adhesive agent which is a transparent gel comprised of a three-dimensionally cross-linked polymer swollen with a fluid containing a plasticizer and inorganic fine particles, characterized in that the plasticizer is a liquid having a coagulation point of -20°C or less and is contained in the gel in an amount of 20 to 70 wt %, the inorganic fine particles have an average particle diameter of 200 nm or less and is contained in an amount of 1 to 15 wt %, a resin constituting the three-dimensionally cross-linked polymer has a glass transition temperature (Tg) of -20°C or less and exhibits a melt viscosity at 130°C of 50,000 mPa.s or more, and the transparent gel exhibits a holding power at a load of 490 mN (50 gf) X 2 hours at 40°C of 5 mm or less in a test according to JIS Z0237. The transparent gel self-adhesive is a novel transparent self-adhesive which needs no high temperature and/or high pressure treatment, can be used for pasting a substrate and a surface material at room temperature, and also can impart excellent dumping characteristics.
