HALOGEN-FREE FLAME RETARDANT POLYBUTYLENE TEREPHTHALATE RESIN COMPOSITION COMPRISING POLYBUTYLENE TEREPHTHALATE RESIN, CYCLIC ORGANIC PHOSPHORUS FLAME RETARDANT AND MELAMINE-BASED FLAME RETARDANT, AND FLAME RETARDANT PRODUCT PREPARED FROM THE COMPOSITION

PURPOSE: A halogen-free flame retardant polybutylene terephthalate resin composition and a flame retardant product prepared from the composition are provided, to improve flame retardancy, to reduce environmental pollution by using a smaller amount of flame retardants and to prevent the problem of the deterioration of a high temperature stability and a color due to the use of a red phosphorus-based flame retardant. CONSTITUTION: The halogen-free flame retardant polybutylene terephthalate resin composition comprises 40-95 wt% of a polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) resin; 1-30 wt% of a cyclic organic phosphorus flame retardant represented by the formula 1(HCA) or 2(HCA-HQ); and 1-30 wt% of a melamine-based flame retardant. Preferably the polybutylene terephthalate is used by copolymerizing with polytetramethylene glycol, polyethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, low molecular weight aliphatic polyester or aliphatic polyamide, or blending with an impact modifier. Preferably the melamine-based flame retardant is selected from melamine, melamine cyanurate, melamine phosphate, melamine pyrophosphate and melamine polyphosphate.
