The invention relates to a method for producing and structuring electro-optical elements from electro-optical materials, e.g. nonlinear optical organic crystals, particularly comprised of the organic salt DAST, by means of femtosecond laser ablation. The invention also relates to applications of electro-optical elements produced in this manner.
