There is provided a composition comprising one or more photoactive compounds and one or more optimization agents. Surprisingly, the composition requires a small amount of optimization agent to efficiently optimize the polarity, critical wavelength, SPF, PFA, Star Rating, photostability, or any combinations thereof, of the composition. Subsequently, an efficient sunscre en composition is achieved.
