This invention relates to steroidal compounds having the formula (I), wherein: R<1 >is O, (H,H), (H,OH), NOH, whereby OH is optionally etherified or esterified; R<2 >and R<3 >are independently hydrogen or (C1-4) alkyl and at least one of R<2 >and R<3 >is (C1-4) alkyl; R<4 >is hydrogen, or (C1-15) acyl for use in androgen-related treatments, such as androgen insufficiency and male or female contraception.
