PURPOSE: A method of producing rice which contains herbal components of sammulhwangkeumtang described in the book of Eastern Medicare and is effective for treatment of hypertension and complications associated with hypertension is provided. The method comprises the steps of soaking rice in sammulhwangkeumtang containing Scutellariae Radix, Sophorae Radix and Rehmanniae Rhizoma and then drying. The produced rice has medicinal efficacy of Scutellariae Radix, Sophorae Radix and Rehmanniae Rhizoma. CONSTITUTION: Rice is soaked in the herbal extract of Scutellariae Radix, Sophorae Radix and Rehmanniae Rhizoma for 12hr while turning upside down every 2hr and then dried for a predetermined period of time. For an example, 90g of Scutellariae Radix, 90g of Sophorae Radix and 90g of Rehmanniae Rhizoma are mixed with 5L of water and extracted at 100deg.C for 3hr. Then, 800g of rice is soaked in 320g of extract and dried with hot air at 60deg.C.
