摘要 PURPOSE: An optical disk device and a laser output control method are provided to measure correlated values between at least two laser output setup values and a driving current for obtaining laser outputs, and to store the measured correlated values while calculating changes of the laser outputs from the correlated values, thereby exactly controlling various laser output values. CONSTITUTION: A semiconductor laser(1) supplies a predetermined current, and reproduces/erases recorded information. Current voltage converting resistors(3a,3b) convert currents outputted from a front monitor diode(2) into voltages. Amplifiers(4a,4b) amplify voltage outputs of the front monitor diode(2). S/H(Sample/Hold) circuits(5a,5b) sample and hold the voltage laser outputs at certain intervals. An LD driver(6) inputs outputs of amplifiers(4c,4d) to generate currents to be supplied to the semiconductor laser(1). A/D converters(9a,9b) convert voltages of the LD driver(6) into digital values to input the digital values in a CPU(10). The CPU(10) stores a control program while controlling an entire optical disk device, stores the input values of the A/D converters(9a,9b), then outputs desired values to D/A converters(11a-11e).
