PURPOSE: A speed reduction and quantity reduction control method in limp-home mode release is provided to prevent acceleration delay, a fault in acceleration, or turnoff of starting of an engine in limp-home mode release by executing speed reduction and quantity reduction control according to output value deviation of a throttle valve position sensor instead of filling efficiency deviation for predetermined time after limp-home mode release. CONSTITUTION: A speed reduction and quantity reduction control method in limp-home mode release comprises steps of sensing a fault of an air flow sensor and progressing to a limp-home mode(S1); releasing the limp-home mode as the air flow sensor returns to a normal state(S2); determining whether a throttle valve position sensor is normal or broken down(S3); determining whether time is within a range of predetermined time after limp-home mode release if the throttle valve position sensor is normal(S4); deciding speed reduction and quantity reduction pulse width and executing speed reduction and quantity reduction control if predetermined time has passed after limp-home mode release(S5); determining whether output value deviation of the throttle valve position sensor is smaller than zero if the time is within the range of predetermined time after limp-home mode release(S6); deciding speed reduction and quantity reduction pulse width and executing speed reduction and quantity reduction control if vehicle speed reduction is determined on the basis of the output of the throttle valve position sensor(S7); and prohibiting speed reduction and quantity reduction control if stop, constant speed, or acceleration is determined(S8).
