PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rack conveying device in which label reading can be retried. SOLUTION: This rack conveying device 210 is equipped with a rack feed mechanism 218 for forward feeding container racks 202 put therein along a put-in/conveyance route 212, a standby mechanism 220 for feeding only a headmost container rack 202a to a measurement position to position it there while keeping the other container racks 202b, etc., on standby, a measurement unit 222 for performing measurement, etc., on the presence of containers for each container 200 positioned at the measurement position, a movement mechanism 224 for moving the measurement unit 222 along the longitudinal direction of the container rack 202a, and a first conveyor 226 for conveying container racks whose measurement is completed to a post-process. The measurement unit 222 has a container detector 240 for detecting the presence of each container 200 and a label reader 242 for reading a label stuck on each container 200.
