PURPOSE: To shorten the time required for autofocusing by detecting a lens initial position and moving a focusing lens to a specified position in the case of a specified operating mode. CONSTITUTION: When a photographing mode is set to a macro mode or a film adapter mode, the focusing lens 105 is moved to a closest focusing distance after the lens 105 is reset. When the photographing mode is set to a normal photographing mode, the lens 105 is moved to an infinity end after the lens 105 is reset. The scanning range of autofocusing is changed and set in accordance with the photographing mode and a photographing condition. Furthermore, the lens 105 is moved to a preset position in the case focal point detection is difficult. |
