FIELD: medical equipment, in particular, spine extension therapeutic gymnastics. ^ SUBSTANCE: exercising apparatus has strip adapted for mounting in inclined position on upper and lower supports and device for retaining of user in lying position on extending part of inclined strip. Said device is positioned on strip and adapted for aligning projection of user's spine mid portion with mid portion of strip extending part. Strip may be deflected in mid portion of strip extending part within 0.5-5% the length of extending part, when user is on said site and in said position. Method involves providing extension of spine on said apparatus and exercising main spine supporting muscles; simultaneously with extension procedure, providing exercising of spine short muscles. ^ EFFECT: increased efficiency in prophylaxis and treatment of spine deformations and degenerative diseases. ^ 19 cl, 7 dwg
