PURPOSE:To prevent an automobile from colliding against a branch part by stopping the automobile by applying urgent braking when a sensor, mounted on the automobile, detects a special pattern, given on a non-traffic road surface positioned at this side of the road branch part. CONSTITUTION:There is the branch part 3 in a position where a deceleration lane 2 branches from a main lane 1, and a striped pattern 6 that a white lines are painted at a definite interval, is applied on a triangle-shaped non-traffic road surface 5. In a running automobile, a switch 12 is turned on, and at the same time, a light 10 is lighted on when it is dark at night, etc. When the automobile is running on a traffic road part in this state, the sensor 9 never detects the pattern 6, and the automobile runs as usual. Here, when the automobile enters in the road surface 5 by misoperation, by sensor 9 detects the pattern 6, and an urgent braking device 11 is operated by the detection signal, and the urgent braking is applied, and the automobile stops. Thus, the automobile can be prevented form colliding with the branch part 3. For escaping from the road surface 5, the switch 12 is turned off, and the braking by the device 11 is ceased, and the automobile is driven.
