PURPOSE: A wiper blade having a lever connected to a wiper arm is provided to minimize the height thereof and effectively conform to a wiping surface, thereby achieving effective wiping performance. CONSTITUTION: A wiper blade(11) is composed of a wiper strip(14) directly wiping a wiping surface and having at least one backing groove extended in a longitudinal direction of the wiper strip; at least one backing plate(15) made of a spring material and accommodated in a corresponding one of the at least one backing groove; and a lever(12). Each of the one backing plate, in the least, is convexly curved in such a way that a longitudinal center of the backing plate projects in a direction away from the wiping surface. The lever includes a connecting arrangement(21) rotatably connected to a wiper arm, and first and second arms(22) located on first and second longitudinal sides of the connecting arrangement, respectively. The first and second arms are extended from the connecting arrangement toward first and second longitudinal ends of the wiper strip in the longitudinal direction of the wiper strip, respectively. The first and second arms include a holding portion(23) provided in a longitudinal end of the arm to hold at least one of the wiper strip and the at least one backing plate. The holding portion of the first arm is located in an intermediate position between the connecting arrangement and the first longitudinal end of the wiper strip. The holding portion of the second arm is located in an intermediate position between the connecting arrangement and the second longitudinal end of the wiper strip.
