PURPOSE: An oil supply device for a horizontal compressor is provided to guarantee the smooth oil supply both when a casing is installed parallel or slant to the ground surface, thereby preventing the decrease of reliability caused by the oil lack. CONSTITUTION: An oil supply device for a horizontal compressor includes a casing(11) filled with a predetermined amount of oil, and an electric motor part incorporated at the left side of the casing for generating rotation force. A compression part is incorporated in the right side of the casing for compressing refrigerant by the rotation force generated by the motor part. A difference pressure separating plate(17) is mounted between the motor and compression parts of the casing for defining the inside of the casing into high and low pressure parts(S1,S2). An oil supply part supplies the oil to respective sliding parts. The oil supply part has first and second oil guide pipes(19A,19B) in the shape of U or L. The first oil guide pipe has an inlet end positioned to the low pressure part of the casing for smooth oil supply when the compressor is driven while the casing is in parallel to the ground surface. The second one has an inlet end positioned in the high pressure part for smooth oil supply when the casing is inclined with respect to the ground surface.
