PURPOSE: A double acting cylinder is provided to achieve a high-speed operation by forming first and second air inlets at a cylinder body and moving a piston right and left with air pressure. CONSTITUTION: A double acting cylinder(10) is composed of a cylinder body(20), a piston(30) and a piston rod(31) installed in the cylinder body, first and second air inlets(100,200), an air pipe(300) connected with a predetermined part of the cylinder body to be connected with the first and second air inlets, an air control valve, and an air tank(500) connected to the air control valve. The air control valve includes first and second air control valves(401,402). The first air control valve is connected to the first air inlet/outlet, and is installed at the air pipe to control the air flowing in/out a first space(21) formed in the piston. The second air control valve is connected to the second air inlet, and is installed at the air pipe to control the air flowing in/out a second space(22) formed in the piston. The first and second air inlets are formed on the cylinder body at both sides of the piston so that the piston moves right and left linearly by air pressure. A plurality of piston seal rings are provided with the piston, and seal the piston.
