PURPOSE: A damper for a building structure provided with a slit plate is provided to absorb load energy by earthquake effectively by transferring the load added on a structural member to a slit plate. CONSTITUTION: The damper(230) for a building structure provided with a slit plate contains: a primary end plate(231) receiving load energy from a structural member; a pair of load transfer plates(233) fixed to both sides of the primary end plate(231) respectively; a slit plate fixed perpendicularly between a pair of load transfer plates(233) and provided with a slit formed longitudinally to be deformed by load energy; a cutting groove plate located perpendicular to the load transfer plate(233) by fitting the slit plate to a cutting groove formed on the inside; and a secondary end plate(232) fixed to the other side of the cutting groove plate and coupled with another structural member to transfer load energy to the cutting groove plate fixed to the slit plate.
