The method involves transmitting an identifier of a calling terminal user and an identifier of a computer system that is to be remotely controlled, to a centralized computer system. The centralized system verifies the identifiers and transmits an authorization to the system to be remotely controlled if the verification is positive. The system to be controlled executes an authorized control. An independent claim is also included for a remote control device.
