PURPOSE:To shorten a charging time and to make it possible to perform large- capacity charging, by making a superconductive magnet compact, and making a control element and a control circuit compact at the same time. CONSTITUTION:A superconductive battery 2 is provided with a low temperature container 8 in which a compact superconductive magnet 4 and a permanent current switch 6 are built-in. A circuit part 10 having a current control element and a control circuit is provided in the battery. In the low temperature container 8, cooling fluid, e.g., liquid helium, liquid nitrogen or the like is supplied. The superconductive magnet 4 in the low temperature container 8 is provided by forming a coil with an electric wire, in which e.g., yttrium superconductive material is covered with a copper sheath. A permanent current switch 6 connects the starting end and the terminating end of the winding of the coil of the superconductive magnet 4 with a superconductive electric wire. A heater 6h is provided at a part of the superconductive electric wire 6w. When the heater 6h is heated with a current, the superconductive state of the superconductive electric wire 6w is broken. Thus, the switch is opened. When the current through the heater 6h is cut, the switch is closed. |
