Composition comprising a weakly basic aluminum polychloride and an iron salt in a solution containing a water-soluble cationic polyelectrolyte is new. An independent claim is also included for producing a composition as above by mixing a solution of the aluminum polychloride with the polyelectrolyte and adding the iron salt to the mixture.
