PURPOSE: A shift lever device is provided to easily mount a shift knob on the upper portion of a shift lever. CONSTITUTION: A shift lever device includes a shift lever(28) rotatably attached to a fixing member, an engaging member(40) for engaging the shift lever via the fixing member, and a knob(29) fixed on the shift lever. The engaging member moves toward the front end portion to be released from the fixing member. The knob consists of a knob body having an attaching hole, a button rotating in the knob body and a link lever(46) connected with the button. The shift lever is inserted to the attaching hole. When the front end portion of the shift lever approaches a specific position, a second engaging part is engaged with a first engaging part.
