The device has a packet (1) arranged on a side (6) of a strip (8) to form an opening. The arrangement allows gripping of an item such as moist towellette. The side of the packet has a slit (4) extending linearly. The slit terminates itself at the respective ends of two leader segments (5, 5) extending between 10 to 90 degrees. An adhesive unit e.g. glue, is sealed against an outer side of the packet.
