PURPOSE: An air conditioner is provided to double air purifying capability by cooling or heating indoor air. CONSTITUTION: A heat exchanger(107) exchanges heat with indoor air. A heat insulation material(120) is installed at a circumference of the heat exchanger for preventing heat generated from the heat exchanger from being discharged into an indoor space. An antibiotic material is applied on a surface of the heat insulation material. An ultraviolet lamp(122) is installed between the heat exchanger and the heat insulation material for irradiating ultraviolet rays to the heat exchanger and the surface of the heat insulation material.
