The method involves sending a signaling message (Inf(AIP2Rq)) towards an interface device (GW) from a domain name manager. The signaling message signals the interface device that a protocol address request has been formulated near the manager. The request concerns a recipient connected to the interface device and is identified by domain name of the recipient. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a carrier signal of a signaling message (b) a telecommunication system.
