<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus which adjusts the receiving level by a simple constitution in a transmitting/receiving operation while adaptively changing the modulation system, reduces the processing load, and ensures a sufficient adaptive speed. <P>SOLUTION: A signal processor 4 uses a plurality of power monitoring means for detecting the signal intensities of received signals in mutually different dynamic ranges. It selects one of the plurality of power monitoring means as a first power monitoring means, compensates the received signal level based on the detected signal intensity by the first power monitoring means, selects another of the plurality of power monitoring means having a narrower dynamic range than the first means as a second power monitoring means, and executes at least either a frequency offset compensation or a timing offset compensation, based on the detected signal intensity by the second power monitoring means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
